  • The number one-seeded Avon Lakers will be playing for the Victory League (VL)-South championship Sunday afternoon against either St. Stephen, the number two seed, or Freeport, the number four seed.

  • Avon-Teams in the Victory League (VL)-South had preview of their playoff games this past weekend. Avon, the division leader, will host Freeport, the number four seed Saturday. Freeport topped Avon 5-3 Sunday in the final VL regular season game. St. Stephen defeated St. Wendel 5-2 Saturday in those teams' final regular season game. They meet at St. Stephen on Saturday.

    Courtney Buerman was unhittable and the top of the Huskie lineup was unstoppable as Albany won the Section 6AA, South Subsection championship 5-0 over St. Cloud Cathedral May 25 in Waite Park.

    The  constant rain didn’t stop the Holdingford boys track and field team from achieving its third state true team championship.

  • It’s early in the season, but it’s hard not to be a little bit excited about the start for the Albany Softball Team.

  • The Holdingford girls track and field team finished third at the Central Minnesota Conference indoor meet March 24 at St. Cloud State University.
  • The Twins’ only score came off a home run by DH ByungHo Park in the seventh inning.  A few days later he was sent to the club’s AAA club where he will start the season
  • In the 2017 season opener and home opener, the Huskies softball team welcomed neighboring Holdingford on Thursday. A softball season opener between Holdingford and Albany has become a tradition for the two schools, and this year the win went to Albany.

    The final meet for the Sauk Centre-Melrose Wrestling Team came to a close last week as Antonio Ortiz and Jordan Winter participated in the State Wrestling Tournament in St.Paul.
