Notice is hereby given that the Stearns County Planning Commission, in and for the County of Stearns, will conduct certain public hearings as follows: 

 

1. To consider an amendment to Interim Use Permit P-003072 submitted by Wm D. Scepaniak Inc., Holdingford MN on behalf of Viking Co, Albany MN according to Sections 4.18, 7.17 and 9.3.6 A & D of Stearns County Land Use and Zoning Ordinance #439 to have a mining operation for an additional 10 years and with added hours of operation in the Agricultural 40 (A-40) zoning district.  The proposal is located in part of the SE1/4SW1/4 and SW1/4SE1/4 in Section 25, lying northwest of 330th Street and west of County Road 156, Albany Township (125/31). 



2. To consider a Conditional Use Permit application submitted by SolarClub 13, LLC, Wayzata MN on behalf of George A. & Carol J. Reber Trust, Albany MN according to Sections 4.8, 6.52 and 9.3.5V of Stearns County Land Use and Zoning Ordinance #439 to construct a 1MW solar garden in the Agricultural 40 (A-40) zoning district.  The property under consideration is located in part of the NW1/4 NW1/4, lying south of 350th Street in Section 21, Albany Township (125/31).  The property address is 23247 350th Street, Albany MN.



Notice is further given that the above and other hearings will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2020, beginning at 7:00 PM at the Stearns County Service Center West, 3301 County Road 138 Room 121, Waite Park, Minnesota.        



Copies of the proposed requests are on file in the Stearns County Environmental Services Office, County Administration Center, 705 Courthouse Square Room 343, St. Cloud, Minnesota and can be viewed during regular business hours.  Requests/information can also be viewed approximately one week prior to the meeting at co.stearns.mn.us by clicking on Board & Committee Meetings.  Action taken on these applications will be available shortly after the meeting at the same website location.  



All interested persons are invited to attend said hearings or submit written testimony prior to the hearing date either in support of or in opposition to the proposed request.  Written testimony should be submitted to the Stearns County Environmental Services Department, Administration Center, 705 Courthouse Square Room 343, St. Cloud, Minnesota 56303.

The March monthly meting of the Town Board of Holding Township will be held on Monday, Feb. 24, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. at the Holding Township Hall rescheduled because of the primary Election scheduled on the first Tuesday of the month in March.

The Public Accuracy Testing of the voting machines will also be on Monday, Feb. 24, 2020, but at 9:00 p.m. for the two upcoming elections, Primary Election and the Town Annual Election.

The State Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 with polls opening at 7:00 a.m. and closing at 8:00 p.m. at the Holding Town hall located at 790 4th Street, Holdingford, MN 5640.

The Annual Town Election will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 with polls opening at 2:00 p.m. and closing at 8:00 p.m. at the Holding Town Hall to elect one supervisor and one clerk. No one filed for supervisor, a three year term. Julianne Ebnet, Incumbent filed for clerk, a two year term.

The Board of Canvass will meet at 8:15 to canvass the results of the election.

The Annual Meeting will commence at 8:30 p.m.

In case of inclement weather the Annual Election and Annual Meeting will be held  the following Tuesday, March 17, 2020 same time, same place.

KRAIN TOWNSHIP NOTICE

  Notice is hereby given to qualified voters of Krain Township, Stearns County, State of Minnesota, that the Annual Election of Town Officers and Annual Town Meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at the Krain Town Hall located at 43207 State Hwy 238 Freeport, MN. SCHOOL BOARD WORK SESSION

District Board Room

February 26th, 2020

1. CALL TO ORDER: 6:00pm

2. ROLL CALL

Present: Paulsen, Hansen, Winkels, Kreuzer, Pienne, Carbajal

3. PRINCIPAL UPDATES: Results were reviewed by building principals on student growth from Fall to Winter this academic year – highlighting areas/grade levels with success, and areas needing improvement, and plans as we move forward with the school year.

4. STRATEGIC PLANNING PROCESS: An overview of the survey, response rate, and upcoming dates were reviewed for the Strategic Planning process.

5. MSBA RESOLUTION: The board discussed a localized control resolution, advocating to the state legislature the preferences for localized decisions. This will be brought forward at the next board meeting for approval.

6. TRANSPORTATION: The board reviewed data on bus ages and addressing the needs of the district as it relates to replacing busses. At the upcoming board meeting the revised budget will be presented and expenditure decisions regarding any bus purchases will likely be made.

7. PORTRAIT OF A GRADUATE: Mr. Johnson provided an outline of The Albany Area Schools Portrait of a Graduate for the board to review.

8. FACILITIES: Mr. Johnson provided an update on the LTFM projects: roofing project, the LTFM bond progress, as well as quotes for the gym floor and parking lots. ICS (the consultant who reviewed space needs) will provide a formal report for the board from his findings in the near future. Electrical work is being finished up in the greenhouse, materials are ordered for walls, with construction next week.
