The City Council for the City of Albany, HEREBY ORDAINS as follows:

1. Section 40.12, Camping, is hereby repealed and the following language is enacted in its place:

“No overnight camping, such as but not limited to, tents or travel trailer (camper), in any City Park is permitted.”

This amendment shall become effective upon adoption and publication.

This Ordinance was approved by the majority of the City Council of Albany on this 19th day of December, 2018.

Notice of Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the Stearns County Planning Commission, in and for the County of Stearns, will conduct certain public hearings as follows: 

1.  To consider a plat entitled “Countryside Cove” consisting of three (3) residential lots and two (2) outlots submitted by Jita Properties LLC, Avon MN according to Stearns County Subdivision Ordinance #230 and Land Use and Zoning Ordinance #439.  The 14.6 acre plat is in part of Government Lot 3, lying southeasterly of Timber Road and easterly of Tamarack Lane, also including Lot 6 Cedar Knoll in Section 31, Holding Township (126/30).  The property address is 38718 Timber Road, Avon MN.

2.  To consider a conditional use permit application submitted by Novel Meyer Solar LLC, St. Paul MN on behalf of George & Carol Reber Trust, Albany MN according to Sections 4.8, 6.52, and 9.3.5V of Stearns County Land Use and Zoning Ordinance #439, to construct a 1MW community solar garden on approximately 10 acres in the Agricultural 40 zoning district. The proposed project is located in part of the NW1/4NW1/4 lying southerly of 350th Street in Section 21, Albany Township (125/31).  Property address is 23247 350th St, Albany MN.

Notice is further given that the above hearings will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 beginning at 7:00 PM at the Stearns County Service Center West, 3301 County Road 138 Room 121, Waite Park, Minnesota.        

A copy of the proposed requests are on file in the Stearns County Environmental Services Office, County Administration Center, 705 Courthouse Square Room 343, St. Cloud, Minnesota and can be viewed during regular business hours.  These requests/information can also be viewed approximately one week prior to the meeting at co.stearns.mn.us by clicking on Board & Committee Meetings.  Action taken on these applications will be available shortly after the meeting at the same website location.  

All interested persons are invited to attend said hearings or submit written testimony prior to the hearing date either in support of or in opposition to the proposed request.  Written testimony should be submitted to the Stearns County Environmental Services Department, Administration Center, 705 Courthouse Square Room 343, St. Cloud, Minnesota 56303.
