8.3 Certify Levy

Motion by Kreuzer, seconded by Paulsen to approve the 2019 Levy Certification. Supported by all present.

8.4 2019-2020 Calendar Review - Supt. Johnson shared the tentative calendar.

8.5 Set Reorganization Meeting Date

Motion by Carbajal, seconded by Paulsen to set the Reorganization Meeting date as Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 7:00 pm. Supported by all present.

8.6 Community Survey - Supt. Johnson shared the Community Survey questions. Steve Stromme worked hard with revisions. Board members gave input. The survey will be active in January. Motion by Carbajal to approve the survey, Gersch seconded. Supported by all present.

8.7 Project Budget - Supt. Johnson requests some money for the Greenhouse to allow for the project to move forward. Motion by Carbajal to designate up to $100,000 of remaining project budget money to be used for the Greenhouse, Paulsen seconded. Supported by all present.

8.8 Safe Routes Resolution

Motion by Member Kreuzer to adopt the following resolution:

ALBANY SCHOOL BOARD RESOLUTION

SUPPORT OF THE CITY’S TRANSPORTATION ?ALTERNATIVE AND SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL FUNDING APPLICATION
WHEREAS, the City wishes to improve the pedestrian facilities along Forest Avenue, west of the School’s entrance; and

WHEREAS, A community group that included representatives from Albany Schools, the City of Albany, and Stearns County Health Services developed the Albany Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan in 2017; and

WHEREAS, The City adopted the Albany Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan on September 20, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Forest Avenue was designated in the Master Plan as the main Safe Route to School; and

WHEREAS, The City of Albany and Stearns County will be submitting an application for Safe Routes to School and Transportation Alternatives funding assistance for the Forest Avenue Improvements; and

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Albany School Board:

That the Albany School Board supports the improvement of safe bicycle and pedestrian facilities near the Albany Area Schools, and throughout the community, and supports the funding application for Transportation Alternatives and Safe Routes to School.

Member Paulsen seconded the foregoing resolution and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor there of: Carbajal, Gersch, Hansen, Kreuzer, Paulsen, and Winkels

And the following voted against: None

Absent: McLachlan

Where upon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.

Adopted by the School Board this 12th day of December 2018.

Holdingford Public School District 

Call for Bids

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: Sealed bids will be received by the Superintendent of Schools for the Holdingford Public School District in the County of Stearns in the State of Minnesota, 900 Fifth Street, Holdingford, MN 56340 for furnishing all equipment, labor, and materials for the following: Building Envelope Improvements – Roof Repairs.

Bids must be submitted in duplicate and shall be addressed in an opaque envelope marked according to the specifications, with the name of the bidder showing, no later than 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 3rd, 2019.

BID SECURITY: Each bid is required to be accompanied by the Responsible Contractor’s Affidavit and a Bid Security in the form of a certified check, cashier’s check, or bid bond in the amount of five (5) percent of the Bid Amount submitted. Bid bond shall be payable to Holdingford Public Schools Public Schools, as guarantee that Bidder will if awarded enter into a

Contract in accordance with the Construction Documents and submitted Bid.

EXAMINATION OF SITE: A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held on Wednesday,

December 19th at 10:00 AM at the Holdingford Public School District Office – 900 fifth Street, Holdingford, MN 56340. Bidders shall review the construction site to obtain first-hand knowledge of existing conditions, including existing utilities and services, obstacles which may be encountered and all other conditions relative to the work to be performed. No unscheduled visits will be allowed by Holdingford Public Schools.

Additional Compensation: Suppliers and Contractors shall not receive additional payment for conditions which can be determined by examining the project site and construction documents.

EXAMINATION OF DOCUMENTS: Bid Documents are available at the mandatory pre-bid meeting only. The pre-bid meeting is on Wednesday December 19th at 10:00 AM. Call the District Office at (320) 746-2232 to reserve a copy of the specifications to be distributed at the pre-bid meeting.

PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BONDS: The successful Contractor will be required to provide a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond for a period of 1 year in the amount of 100% (percent) of the Contract Sum.
