ALBANY TOWNSHIP

ADVERTISEMENT FOR GRAVEL BIDS

Albany Township is requesting sealed bids for approximately 5,000 yards CL5M gravel crushed to 3/4” with 6-12 percent passing 200 sieve; subject to Mn/DOT Standard Specifications 2211, 3138 and Schedule of Materials Control for Aggregate Base.  This would include, but not be limited to all required gradations, plasticity index testing, hauling and spreading per cubic yard (LV), compacting and grading.  Class 5 gravel using top soil or any other organic material for binder will not be accepted. Compaction will be by the Ordinary Compaction method.  

Contractor will be required to sign a contract before any work is started.  Loads are subject to random weighing and testing when delivered.  Contractor must notify Township a minimum of 24 hours prior to any hauling of material and also provide Township with all required QC testing results prior to final acceptance and payment.  Contractor is required to submit IC-134 form prior to final payment.

Sealed bids should be clearly marked and sent to Albany Township Clerk, PO Box 344, Albany, MN 56307. Sealed bids will include certificate of liability and workers compensation insurance. Sealed bids will be accepted until 7:30 P.M. on April 23, 2018. Opening of sealed bids will follow at the Township Meeting. Township reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

ALBANY CITY ASSESSORS TO REVIEW PROPERTY

VALUATION AND CLASSIFICATION QUESTIONS

Deb Haus, an appraiser with Stearns County Assessor’s Office, the City Assessor, has announced that she will be available to answer questions regarding the 2018 estimated market values and tax classifications of City properties at the Albany City Administration Building, 400 Railroad Avenue, on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

This informational meeting is an opportunity to meet informally with the assessor prior to the scheduled Local Board of Appeal and Equalization meeting.  She will address your assessment questions and review property and sales data with you.  She will also talk about various property tax laws and programs.  

This meeting does not replace a property owner’s right to submit an appeal before the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization meeting scheduled to begin at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Albany City Administration Building.  The Local Board of Appeal and Equalization meeting is held to address the grievances of property owners who choose to appeal their 2018 estimated market value and/or tax classification.  It is conducted according to the laws of the state and plays an important role in the property appeals process.
