It is Ordered and Notice is given that on March 20, 2020, at 8:45 a.m., a hearing will be held in this Court at St. Cloud, Minnesota, on a petition for the formal probate of an instrument purporting to be the Decedent’s Will dated September 21, 2016, and for the appointment of Marilyn Weber, whose address is 233 Riverside Avenue NW, Melrose, MN  56352, as personal representative of the Decedent’s estate in an unsupervised administration.

Any objections to the petition must be raised at the hearing or filed with the Court prior to the hearing.  If the petition is proper and no objections are filed or raised, the personal representatives will be appointed with the full power to administer the Decedent’s estate, including the power to collect all assets; pay all legal debts, claims, taxes, and expenses; sell real and personal property; and do all necessary acts for the Decedent’s estate. 

Notice is further given that, subject to Minn. Stat. § 524.3-801, all creditors having claims against the Decedent’s estate are required to present the claims to the personal representative or to the Court within four months after the date of this notice or the claims will be barred.

NOTICE OF ELECTION AND ANNUAL MEETING

MELROSE TOWNSHIP

The citizens of the township of Melrose, County of Stearns, State of Minnesota, who are qualified to vote at General Elections, are hereby notified that the annual election and Annual Township Meeting will be held at the Melrose Town Hall, 41248 County Road 13, Melrose, MN, on March 10, 2020 for the following purposes:

To elect 1 (one) Supervisor, seat #3 for the term of three years.

Election hours will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. NOTE: The Township office will be open on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) for absentee voting. The Annual Meeting will begin after the polls close at 8:15 p.m.

The Board of Canvass will convene following the Annual Meeting to certify the official election results. 

In the event of inclement weather, the election and meetings will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

Ordinance No. 2-20-2020

An Ordinance Amending Melrose City Code Chapter 32, Section 32.01

Parks and Recreation Board

The City Council of the City of Melrose Ordains as follows:

Section 1.  Melrose City Code Section 32.01(B) “Composition,” is hereby repealed and in lieu of said section is substituted the following:

32.01 PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD.

(B) Composition.  The Board shall consist of five members appointed annually by the Mayor with the consent of the City Council.  One member of the Board shall be a member of the Melrose Area Development Authority, one member shall be a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission, one member of the Board shall be a member of the City Council, and two members shall be appointed at large.

Section 2.  This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication according to law.

Adopted by the Melrose City Council on February 20, 2020.

GROVE TOWNSHIP

Notice of Annual Meeting and Election

Notice is hereby given to the qualified voters of Grove Township, County of Stearns, state of Minnesota, that the annual election of Town Officers and Annual Town Meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 10th, 2020. In case of inclement weather, the meeting and election will be held on Tuesday, March 17th, 2020.

The Election Poll hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Voters can vote for 

1 Supervisor, 3-year term

2 Clerk, 2-year term.

The Board of Canvass will meet at 8:05 p.m. on the day of the Election to certify the results.

The Annual Meeting will be held ate 8:10 p.m.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Independent School District No. 740, located 546 5th Avenue NE, Melrose, Minnesota 56352, will receive Letters of Interest and Qualifications until 10:00 AM CST, February 28, 2020 from qualified service providers interested in providing District student transportation services commencing with school and contract year 2020-21.

Information about this contract may be obtained by contacting the Superintendent Greg Winter at the School District at 320-256-5160.

Interested Service Provider letter of Interest and Qualifications must be received in an envelope clearly marked “STUDENT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES” on or before the above date and time, by:

On the above date and time authorized persons of Independent School District No. 740 will publicly open the Letters of Interest received and read aloud the names.

After reviewing the Letters of Interest received, the District may request additional information, enter into direct negotiations, or request Written Quotations with one or more qualified student transportation services provider(s) for a student transportation services contract(s) with terms, rates and provisions agreeable to the District.  The District, at its sole discretion, may award a contract to more than one interested qualified service provider.

Independent School District No. 740 is using the direct negotiation subject to written quotation process established by Minnesota Statutes 2019, Section 123B.52, Subds. 1 and 3 for the procurement of this contract, and disclaims usage of any other contract procurement options such as sealed bids allowed under applicable law.  The School District reserves the right to reject any and all quotations and waive irregularities therein, and further reserves the right to award a contract to the lowest responsible service provider(s) that is in the best interest of Independent School District No. 740.
