NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that bids for the construction of the 2020 Street Improvements will be received by the City of Melrose at City Hall located at 225 1st Street NE, Melrose, MN 56352, until Thursday, April 16, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. local time. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.

The Project includes the furnishing of all labor and materials for the construction complete in-place, of the following approximate quantities:

800 L F Remove and Replace Concrete Curb and Gutter

4,950 C Y Excavation – Common (P)

3,900 C Y Select Granular Embankment (CV)

2,000 C Y Aggregate Base (CV) Class 5

2,600 TON Type SP 12.5 Wearing Course Mix (3,C)

2,950 S F Remove and Replace Concrete Walk

    70 S F Truncated Domes

  436 L F 4” Broken Line Paint

The provisions of MINN. STAT. 16C.285 Responsible Contractor are imposed as a requirement of this contract. All bidders and persons or companies providing a response/submission to the Advertisement for Bids of the City of Melrose shall comply with the provisions of the statute.

Information and Bidding Documents for the Project can be found at Bidding Documents may be downloaded from the website for a nonrefundable fee of $30 by inputting Quest project number 6924239 on the website’s Project Search page.

The website will be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through the website Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from other sources.

The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any bids received without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days.

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Appeal and Equalization for the City of Melrose will meet on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at 4:30 pm - 5:00 pm, at the Melrose City Center.  The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor.

If you believe the value or classification of your property is incorrect, please contact your assessor’s office to discuss your concerns.  If you disagree with the valuation and classification after discussing it with your assessor, you may appear before the local board of appeal and equalization.  The board shall review your assessments and may make corrections as needed.  Generally, you must appeal to the local board before appealing to the county board of appeal and equalization.
