DISTRICT RESIDENTS

The Stearns County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants for an appointment to the Sauk River Watershed District Board of Managers.  The appointment would be to serve a three year term ending on June 30, 2022.  If you are interested in being appointed to this board and you reside in the Sauk River Watershed District in Stearns County, send a brief resume giving your place of residence and any other information about yourself which you would like to share with the Board regarding your qualifications or interests in serving on the board.  An on-line application form and more information on the board is available on the Stearns County website:

Notice of Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the Stearns County Planning Commission, in and for the County of Stearns, will conduct certain public hearings as follows: 

1. To consider an Interim Use Permit application submitted by Wm. D. Scepaniak Inc., Holdingford MN on behalf of Joel R Middendorf Revocable Trust, Sauk Centre MN according to Sections 4.18, 6.15 and 9.2.6A of Stearns County Land Use and Zoning Ordinance #439 to operate a temporary asphalt plant in the Agricultural 80 (A-80) zoning district.  The proposal is located in part of the SW1/4 NE1/4, lying east of Overton Road in Section 28, Grove Township (125/33).

Notice is further given that the above hearings will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019 beginning at 6:00 PM at the Stearns County Service Center West, 3301 County Rd. 138 Room 121, in Waite Park, Minnesota.        

A copy of the proposed requests are on file in the Stearns County Environmental Services Office, County Administration Center, 705 Courthouse Square Room 343, St. Cloud, Minnesota and can be viewed during regular business hours.  These requests/information can also be viewed approximately one week prior to the meeting at co.stearns.mn.us by clicking on Board & Committee Meetings.  Action taken on these applications will be available shortly after the meeting at the same website location.  

All interested persons are invited to attend said hearings or submit written testimony prior to the hearing date either in support of or in opposition to the proposed request.  Written testimony should be submitted to the Stearns County Environmental Services Department, Administration Center, 705 Courthouse Square Room 343, St. Cloud, Minnesota 56303.

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to Minnesota Statute, Section 394.26, that the Stearns County Board of Adjustment, in and for the County of Stearns, will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, June 27, 2019 in Conference Room 121, Stearns County Service Center West, 3301 County Road 138, Waite Park, MN, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Purpose of the hearing is to consider the granting or denial of variances from the Stearns County Land Use & Zoning Ordinance, Stearns County Subdivision Ordinance, Stearns County Sewage Treatment Ordinance, Stearns County Recreational Campground Ordinance, Stearns County Lodging Establishments Ordinance, Stearns County Childrens Camps Ordinance and the Stearns County Manufactured Home Parks Ordinance as follows:

Public Hearings:

1. To consider a request from Isaak & Kathryn Hinnenkamp, Melrose, MN, submitted by Justin Frieler, Melrose MN from Section 6.7.5D of the Stearns County Land Use & Zoning Ordinance #439 to construct a new residential dwelling less than 700 feet from a registered animal feedlot.  Said Ordinance requires a 700 foot setback to an animal feedlot that is registered for 10 animal units or more.  Affected property:  35.01 A THAT PART OF NW4NW4 SEC 1 & THAT PART OF NE4NE4 S OF RR, LESS W5 A OF NE4NE4 SEC 2, Section 1 & Section 2, T125N R33W, Grove Township.  Property address:  xxxxx County Road 65, Melrose, MN.

2. To consider a request from Joan Hemker – Hemker Park & Zoo, Freeport, MN from Section 6.5 of the Stearns County Subsurface Sewage Treatment System Ordinance #422 to use holding tanks for a sewage treatment system for an other establishment.  Said Ordinance does not allow for the use of a holding tank for other establishments.  In addition, from Section 7.25.4B of Land Use & Zoning Ordinance #439 to construct a two-sided sign greater than 32 square feet per surface for non-residential use.  Said Ordinance allows a two-sided sign 32 square feet per surface.  Affected property:  17.79 Acres P/O N1/2 of the NE1/4 of Section 2, T125N, R32W, Oak Township.  Property address:  26715 County Road 39, Freeport, MN.
