NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON REZONING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that The Melrose Planning and Zoning Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. on May 7, 2018, at the City Center, 225 First Street NE, in the City of Melrose, for the purpose of giving consideration to the Rezoning request proposed by the City of Melrose regarding the former downtown Kraft site located at 325 1st Ave NE Melrose, MN 56352.  The Property is described as follows:  Lot One (1), Block One (1) of Melrose Riverview Addition, according to the plat and survey thereof, now on file and of record in the office of the Stearns County Recorder.

The rezoning is an amendment to City of Melrose Zoning Ordinance No.1989-1-A, as amended, and adopted by reference as Chapter 153 of the City of Melrose Code of Ordinances.  The zoning of the parcel is proposed to change from R-2 Moderate Density Residential to C-1 Commercial Downtown. 

A copy of the proposed request is on file with the Planning and Zoning Department, Melrose City Center, 225 1st St NE, Melrose MN 56352 and is available for review during normal business hours.

Any persons that desire to be heard regarding the consideration of the applications will be heard at this meeting.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Oak Town Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Monday, May 1, 2018 at 8 p.m. at the Oak Town Hall, located at 28801 Co Rd 30, Freeport, MN 56331.  The purpose of the hearing is to hear from the public, and act to make a recommendation to the Town Board regarding a proposed variance for Gary and Lynn Weiber wishing to build a home at the address 33319 Sandhill Circle. The variance is to include setback changes for property line and road right-of-way changes.

ORDINANCE 

AMENDMENT

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that The Melrose Planning and Zoning Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. on May 7, 2018, at the City Center, 225 First Street NE, in the City of Melrose, for the purpose of giving consideration to the Ordinance Amendment request proposed by the City of Melrose. 

The Ordinance Amendment would amend the text of the City of Melrose Zoning Ordinance No.1989-1-A, as amended, and adopted by reference as Chapter 153 of the City of Melrose Code of Ordinances.  It would modify section 221.02(4) of the Zoning Ordinance to allow apartments on the first floor in the C-1 Downtown Commercial Zoning District when they conform to specific criteria.  

A copy of the proposed request is on file with the Planning and Zoning Department, Melrose City Center, 225 1st St NE, Melrose MN 56352 and is available for review during normal business hours.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR QUOTES

Sealed bids will be received by the City Clerk of Melrose, Minnesota, at the Melrose City Center, 225 1st St. NE, Melrose, MN 56352, until 1:30 p.m. on the 7th day of May 2018, for various directional boring and underground installation, at which time the bids shall be publicly opened and read aloud.

The general nature of the work on which bids will be received consists of Directional boring, installation of conduit and risers, installation of secondary and primary pedestals. This also includes the installation of Owner-furnished materials

The Contractor and all subcontractors shall submit to the Owner a signed statement verifying compliance with each of the criteria described in the State of Minnesota “Responsible Contractor” law as codified in Minnesota Statute section 16C.285.  See the Instructions to Bidders for more details.

All quotes shall be made on proposal forms furnished Melrose Public Utilities

Payment to the Contractor will be made on the basis of ninety percent (90%) upon certification of work completed; ten percent (10%) thirty-one (31) days after final completion and acceptance.

Melrose Public Utilities reserves the right to defer acceptance of any proposal for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days after the date proposals are received and no proposal may be withdrawn during this period.  Melrose Public Utilities also reserves the right to reject any or all bids and enter into such contract as it shall deem to be in the best interest of Melrose Public Utilities.
