ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed bids will be received at the Melrose City Center, 225 1st St. NE, Melrose, MN  56352, until 1:00 p.m. on the 9th day of October, 2017, for furnishing padmount switches and padmount transformers for Melrose Public Utilities (MPU), at which time the bids shall be publicly opened and read aloud.

The general nature of the work on which proposals will be received consists of furnishing and delivering:

• Padmount Switches and associated boxpads

• Three-Phase Padmount Distribution Transformers and boxpads

The above equipment shall be in accordance with the specifications and proposed form of contract now on file at MPU in said City of Melrose, Minnesota, by this reference made a part hereof, as though fully set out and incorporated herein.

All Bids shall be made on proposal forms furnished by the Engineer and shall be accompanied by bid security in the form of a certified check or bid bond, made payable to Melrose Public Utilities, Melrose, Minnesota, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, which security becomes the property of MPU in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract and post satisfactory performance and payment bonds.

Material Bidders desiring a copy of the project documents for individual use may obtain them from the office of DGR Engineering, Rock Rapids, Iowa, telephone (712)472-2531, fax (712)472-2710, web site www.dgr.com, e-mail dgr@dgr.com, no deposit required.

Upon shipment of the complete equipment, the Supplier shall submit to the Owner a detailed statement of the equipment shipped. The Owner shall, within thirty (30) days after delivery receipt of the material and associated invoice, pay the Supplier one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price of the material.

Delivery of the material shall be by March 15, 2018.

MPU reserves the right to defer acceptance of any proposal for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days after the date proposals are received and no proposal may be withdrawn during this period.  MPU also reserves the right to reject any or all bids and enter into such contract as it shall deem to be in the best interest of MPU. Notice is hereby given, pursuant to Minnesota Statute, Section 394.26, that the Stearns County Board of Adjustment, in and for the County of Stearns, will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, September 28, 2017 in Conference Room 121, Stearns County Service Center West, 3301 County Road 138, Waite Park, MN, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Purpose of the hearing is to consider the granting or denial of variances from the Stearns County Land Use & Zoning Ordinance, Stearns County Subdivision Ordinance, Stearns County Sewage Treatment Ordinance, Stearns County Recreational Campground Ordinance, Stearns County Lodging Establishments Ordinance, Stearns County Childrens Camps Ordinance and the Stearns County Manufactured Home Parks Ordinance as follows:

Public Hearings:

1. To consider a request from Camp George, LLC, Edina, MN from Sections 5.1.2C(3) & 10.2.11A(1)(a) of the Stearns County Land Use & Zoning Ordinance #439 to construct an addition located 63 feet from the Ordinary High Water Level onto a  nonconforming residential structure that is located partly in the Shore Impact Zone of Little Birch Lake, a Recreational Development Lake.  Said Ordinance requires a structural setback of 100 feet from the OHWL of a Recreational Development Lake and does not allow for any additions to a nonconforming structure that is located wholly or partly in the Shore Impact Zone.  Affected property:  Lots 6-9 & Outlots 2-4 of First Addition to Ward Springs, Section 35, T127N, R33W, Melrose Township.  Property address:  44876 County Road 13, Grey Eagle, MN.
