Gladys Arlene Judes, aged 73 passed away March 20, 2021, surrounded by her husband, Dale, and siblings.  Gladys was born to W. Herbert (Herb) Claude and Winnifed (Cowthorp) Claude, Feb. 16, 1948, in Melrose.  She married Dales Judes on Sept. 6, 1969. She graduated from the U of M, St. Paul and taught Home Economics in Minnesota and Arizona.

After farming in the Browerville area in the 1980s, Gladys and Dale joined the Peace Corp, assigned to Belize, where Gladys taught school during her two-year assignment. When returning to the U.S., Gladys and Dale returned to farming in the Belgrade area. After retiring in Eagle Bend, Gladys ran the LSS nutrition program at the local senior center. She was also an avid quilter and did long arm quilting for local charities, churches and raffles, as well as made quilts for family and friends.

 She is survived by her husband, Dale; sisters, Betty Dean and Mary Wandersheid of Sauk Centre, Linda Gibbons of Zephyrhills, Florida and Sharon (Don) Olson of Buffalo; brother, Jim (Barb Burka) of Burnsville; and in-laws Ken (Bonnie) Judes, Dan (Darla) Judes, Carol (Larry) Stuckey and Carl (Sandy) Judes.

 The Celebration of Life will be held later this summer.
