NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LIVESTOCK FEEDLOT PERMIT

    Notice is hereby given per Minnesota Statues, Chapter 116, that the Thomas Sedgeman Farm, has made application to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency or the County of Stearns for  a permit to construct or expand a feedlot with the capacity of 500 animal units or more.

    The existing and/or feedlot will be located in the NE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of section 36 in Ashley Township, Stearns County, MN. The existing facility consists of 275 Dairy Cows over 1,000 pounds, 75 Dairy Heifers and 100 Dairy Calves for a total of 457.5 Animal Units. The facility consists of Total Confinement Barns and Open Lots. The current facility has an Earthen Basin and Manure Pack manure storage areas. The proposed facility consists of 400 Dairy Cows over 1,000 pounds, 100 Dairy Cows under 1,000 pounds and 100 Dairy Calves. The proposed facility consists of Total Confinement Barns and Open Lots with Manure Pack manure storage areas. The total animal unit capacity will be 680 Animal Units.
