West Central Education District

Board Meeting Minutes

Date: November 11, 2019

Location: Albany School District Board Room, 

Albany, MN

Board Chair Winkels called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Board members Utsch and Winter were in attendance along with Superintendents Bullard, Winter, Westby and Johnson. Board member Pfeffer was absent. WCED Director Fevig, Coordinator Fischer, Business Manager Raiter and 3 WCED staff members were also in attendance.  Janel Bitzan from BerganKDV was also in attendance. 

With no additions or changes to the agenda, Winter moved, Utsch seconded to approve the agenda.  Motion carried unopposed. 

After a review of consent agenda items, Utsch moved, Winter seconded approval of the Consent Agenda including September 9, 2019 Board Minutes; October 30, 2019 Work Session Minutes; Treasurer’s Report with Bills Payable (22302-23373); Resignation from Joan Kuefler; new hire Meghan Orth Middendorf Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA); and Donation list, Motion carried unopposed. 

Under New Business, Janel Bitzan from BerganKDV presented a summary of the WCED audit report with an unmodified opinion and overall positive results. Winter moved, Utsch seconded to accept the Audit Report. Motion carried unopposed. The board then selected January 13, 2020 for the next meeting date. Utsch moved, Winter seconded to accept the January meeting date with other dates selected in January, motion carried unopposed. 

Under Reports, Fevig reviewed funding sources for WCED as a follow up from the Work Session requests.  

Winkels adjourned the meeting at 7:06pm
