Madison Deters just finished up with her day at school on Wednesday, Nov. 1 and was itching to get home so she could go hunting.

Deters climbed into her stand north of Sauk Centre at 4 p.m. and maintained her composure while she waited patiently for a deer to appear.

An hour had passed, so she stood and contemplated going inside because it was cold and snowing all day. Suddenly, she saw a movement to her left.
