The Albany swim and dive team continues to qualify individuals for the section meet.

Three more will join 15 of their teammates following the results of the meet against Ogilvie/Mora – Hallie Hoffarth in the 100 butterfly, Ellie Blattner in the 100 backstroke and Amanda Kokett in the 500 freestyle.

The Huskies fell to visiting Ogilvie/Mora 58-43 Oct. 5.

“They did amazing. Even though we lost, it was a closer meet than the score reflected,” Albany coach Karla Schneider said.

As the team surpasses the half-way point in the season, they are going well, Schneider said.

“In swimming you build, build, build, but right now we’re starting to get to those really heavy yards and so usually you start to see times get a little worse because they’re tired, but they’re maintaining so that’s a really good sign,” she said. “Every single meet there’s been improvement.”

Kallie Linn in the 200 freestyle and Samantha Fischbach in diving finished first in the meet against Ogilvie/Mora.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Emily Pundsack, Madison Springer, Sara Koltes and Linn also finished first.

The junior varsity finished first and it was their fifth consecutive first place finish.

The Huskies traveled to Becker Oct. 10 and will host Morris/Minnewaska Thursday, Oct. 12, and host Foley Tuesday, Oct. 17, which will be their final home meet of the season.
