BREAKING NEWS UPDATE:

Suspect was taken into custody just before 1 p.m.

Just before 11 a.m., a law enforcement officer fired shots after a Stearns County Sheriff’s Deputy was struck in the arm by an arrow fired from a bow. The Deputy was taken to the Sauk Centre hospital before being taken to another hospital. The injuries to the Deputy are considered to be non-life threatening.

Sauk Centre police, Deputies, SWAT, other local police, Minnesota State Troopers, DNR officers and BCA agents continue to be at an active scene at the 700 block of 10th St. S in Sauk Centre where the suspect is in a home. Officers and negotiators are continuing to talk with the suspect.

Officers have evacuated the immediate neighborhood and have set up a perimeter.
