Freeport–Incumbent Tim Hennen and challenger Sarah Blake won the two open seats on the Freeport City Council. Running unopposed, current councilor Mike Eveslage will be the new mayor. 

       Hennen was the top vote getter with 295 votes, and Blake followed with 161 votes.  Incumbent Ben Ettle received 111 votes and there were three write-in votes.

       Eveslage received 237 votes for mayor, and there were 24 write-in votes. 

         Since Eveslage will become mayor on Jan. 1, 2019, his councilor seat is open. The city council can  decide how to fill Eveslage’s councilor position.
