ALBANY – Holy Family School parent and Stearns County farmer Alicia Mergen nominated the Albany school to receive a $2,500 America’s Farmers Grow Communities Program gift from the Bayer Fund.

The purpose of the program is to partner with farmers to make a positive impact in farm communities across the country by supporting local nonprofit organizations.

This gift will offer HFS an opportunity to purchase more agricultural books for the school’s media center, STEM/STEAM (a learning program) equipment and STEM curriculum materials, as well as supporting the school’s lunch/nutrition program.

Since the program began in 2010, more than $35 million has been directed to organizations across rural America.
