Donald P. “Don” Jacobs, age 89 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, in Mesa, Arizona.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 16 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Marty Porter officiating. Inurnment will be Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre.
Visitation will be from 9:30-11 a.m. Monday at the church.
Donald Paul Jacobs was born Oct. 9, 1932, in Sauk Centre, to Herbert and Bertha (Fischer) Jacobs. On April 18, 1956, Donald married Dorothy Beilke at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. After their marriage, the couple took over the family farm. He was a farmer and salesman all his life. Don and Dorothy enjoyed wintering in Arizona, dancing and going on fishing trips. Don also enjoyed flying his airplanes, showing his Model A cars, going to tractor pulls, and his clocks, his many clocks.
Don was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Sauk Centre Flying Club. He was the president of the Flying Club for many years and then served as airport manager.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Jacobs of Sauk Centre; children, Verna (Gerald) Boecker of Melrose, Bryon (Kathy) Jacobs of Sauk Centre, Leroy (Dottie) Jacobs of Sauk Centre, Cindy (Ronnie) Middendorf of Melrose and Brenda (Mark) Leukam of Albany; 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Luella (Erv) Alt of Grey Eagle and Marion Lunceford of Stanchfield.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Vera (Vern) Asmus and Esther (Ray) Neumann; brother and sister-in-law, Marvin (Joan) Jacobs; and brother-in-law, Jim Lunceford.
Serving as crucifer and urn bearer will be Kevin Jacobs.
Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Sauk Centre.
