Genevieve Genny Cecelia Locnikar, 92, of Melrose, formerly of Albany, passed away at Pine Villa Nursing Home in Melrose. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the Church of Seven Dolors in Albany. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in Albany, and one hour prior to Mass at the church Aug. 16.  Entombment will be at the Church of Seven Dolors parish cemetery in Albany.

Genny was born Jan. 2, 1930, in Albany, to John and Johanna (Lesser) Ebensteiner. She married Conrad Locnikar June 28, 1948, in Albany. Genny and Conrad owned and operated a bulk milk truck business starting in 1968. She learned to drive one of the bulk trucks and worked with Conrad. She worked as a certified nursing assistant for 20 years at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany. She loved listening to and watching the Twins games with Conrad. They were married for 66 years, before Conrad passed away. Genny cooked and baked for her family. She had a large garden and grew raspberries to make jam.

Genny is survived by her children, Darlene (Wayne) Thompson of Great Falls, Montana, Patricia Locnikar of Goldendale, Washington, Jan (John) Bennett of Albert Lea, Jim (Janet) Locnikar of Oro Valley, Arizona,  Julian (Darian Panasuk) Locnikar of Park City, Montana, Judy (Dale) Tucker of San Antonio, Texas, and Allen (Silvia) Locnikar of Erding, Germany; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters Doreen Hodel of Sauk Rapids, and Evelyn (Mark) Thelen of Melrose.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Conrad; four infant sons Francis, Eugene, Michael and Gerald; daughter Donna Zanoth; granddaughter Kay Thompson; brothers Albin Ebensteiner, Edmond Ebensteiner and Anthony Ebensteiner; and sister Deloris Thelen.
