Michael H. “Mike” Terwey, of Grey Eagle, passed away unexpectedly in an unavoidable wood cutting accident Dec. 8, 2022, in Birchdale Township, Todd County, at the age of 67 years, two months and 13 days.

A celebration of life will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at the Double R Bar and Grill in Grey Eagle to celebrate his life’s journey with all the people who he loved the most. This is not a goodbye. It’s a see you later. Mike’s family and friends are invited to attend.  To honor his love for riding, please wear your favorite Harley Davidson attire.

Mike was born in St. Cloud, Sept. 25, 1955, to Harvey and Louise (Tschida) Terwey. He attended Albany High School and graduated in 1973. After high school he worked at Franklin Manufacturing in St. Cloud. He spent the remainder of his career at Columbia Gear Corporation in Avon from 1976 through his retirement in December 2021.

Mike enjoyed riding his Harley with friends (The Nobodies), fishing, trapping, playing darts, playing pool and traveling. He had the ability to become a friend to everyone. Mike was kind hearted, always lending a hand to help. He was empathetic to the menagerie of critters that entered his yard, providing them with food and shelter. Mike was a very artistic individual, creating with many different mediums. He took a lot of pride in his ever growing gardening skills. Once you got to know Mike, you realized there were many interesting layers beneath the leather jacket and bandana.
