Ruth M. Gramke, 83, of Meire Grove, passed away Sept. 15, 2022, at Serenity Place on 7th Assisted Living in St. Joseph.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 22, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Meire Grove with the Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating. Interment will be in parish cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 21, and 9-10 a.m., Sept. 22, at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m., Sept. 22, at the funeral home.

Ruth Mary Gramke was born Aug. 5, 1939, in Richmond, to Edward and Olive (Schreiner) Zumwalde. She worked at the Gambles store in Richmond before marrying Norbert Gramke May 1, 1965, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Richmond. She raised her five children, was a master homemaker and went on to work at Harry’s Pizza in Elrosa.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Meire Grove, Catholic United Financial, and Catholic Order of Foresters.

Survivors include her children, Mary (Thomas) Orth of Sauk Centre, Jim (Patty) Gramke of St. Cloud, Joan (Nathan) Eisenbacher of Sartell, Mark (Carrie) Gramke of Sartell, and Julie (Stefan Hultermans) Gramke of Minneapolis; 11 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, a great-grandson on the way; brother-in-law Herb Ruprecht; and her cherished cat, Lily.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert Gramke, in March of 2022; parents; brother Kenneth Ruegemer; brother-in-law Raymond Gramke; and sister-in-law Erma Ruprecht.

A special thank you to the staff at Serenity Place on 7th, St. Croix Hospice and Dr. Joel Dunn for the wonderful care you provided our mother.

Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Sauk Centre.
