Timothy Joseph Simonett of Sauk Centre, and Lake Havasu City, Arizona., age 74, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Margaret Simonett; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Ann and Donald Borneke and Jerre and Gilbert Berens and grandchild, Grace Simonett.
He is survived by his former wife Lee Ann Brown (Krenik); their five children, Steven (Connie) Simonett of Eagan; Patrick (Staci) Simonett of Verona, Wisconsin; Andy (Stacey) Simonett of Lakeville; Shannon (Nathan) Huntley of Mendota Heights; Megan (Joshua) Stewart of Verona, Wisconsin; 12 grandchildren, Shane, Ellie, Gannon, Sara, Drew, Lauren, Quinlin, William, Eva, Monroe, Grant and Truman; sister Alice (Kenneth) Hermer; dear friend Jinny Gimbel and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in both Minnesota and Arizona.
Tim was born in 1947 to Philip and Margaret (Clinton) in Saint Peter. Tim grew up on his parents’ farm in Cleveland, Minnesota, with his three sisters and was a 1965 graduate of Cleveland High School. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve and, after his service, was a farmer and did heavy equipment construction for over 25 years. He was a member of the Church of Nativity parish and a member of the American Legion Post 207 in Cleveland.
While splitting his time living between Lake Havasu City, Arizona and Sauk Centre, he made many friends. Tim enjoyed telling stories, old tractors and shooting the breeze over a beer at the local Legion.
His friends and family would like to express a deep thanks for the wonderful help, love and care given by Jinny Gimbel during his last few weeks and, the Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Cloud for making his last few days peaceful and comfortable.
A private interment was held at Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland, with military honors by American Legion Post 207, and a Celebration of Life was held in Lakeville, on Aug. 27, 2022.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Saukinac Bar and Grill at Saukinac Campground, which was his summer home, on Sunday, Sept. 25 from 2 - 8 p.m. His friends in the area and family are welcome to attend.
