Lawrence J. “Choo” Rousslange, 97, of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully June 4, 2023, at Getty Street Assisted Living in Sauk Centre.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Friday, June 9, at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with the Rev. Mark Botzet officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with military honors by the Sauk Centre United Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., June 9, at the church in Sauk Centre.

Lawrence Rousslange was born Feb. 18, 1926, in Raymond Township, Stearns County, to Hubert and Katherine (Essler) Rousslange. He served in the United States Navy from 1944-1946 during WWII aboard the USS Kaskaskia. He married Helen Spier October 30, 1950, at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. In 1956, Lawrence owned and operated Land Gas and Tire Company in Sauk Centre for many years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Catholic Order of Foresters, Paul F. Donart VFW Post 2853 and American Legion Post 67.

He enjoyed shaking dice at the station with customers, visiting with friends at the Legion and looking forward to getting scratch offs to see if it was a big winner.

Survivors include his children Linda Bromenshenkel, Duane (LuAnn) Rousslange, Keith Rousslange and Debra (John) Metcalf, all of Sauk Centre; nine grandchildren Tim (Missy), Brad (Melissa) and Bill (Lynn) Bromenshenkel, Joshua (Maressa), Eric (Gillian) and Andrew (Allyson) Rousslange, Emily (Ryan) West, Kayla (Jesse) Douvier and Kyle Metcalf; 18 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law Harvey Spier. 

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; wife Helen Rousslange, on Jan. 10, 2005; son-in-law Don Bromenshenkel on Nov. 6, 2012; brothers and sisters-in-law Aloysius “Jack” (Sally) Rousslang and Anthony “Tony” (Francella) Rousslang; and sisters and brothers-in-law Irene (Edward) Bieringer and Lorraine (Howard) Flowers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Sauk Centre.
