Judith Carol “Judy” Hill
Judith Carol “Judy” Hill, 75, of Indianapolis, Indiana, died June 12, 2023, of lymphoma.
She was born May 30, 1948, in Melrose to the late Evelyn Jansen and Henry Jansen.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jack Hill; son Tim Hill; brothers Larry Jansen and Bob Jansen; sisters Marilyn Eelkema and Joyce Slawson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and their families. She was predeceased by her son, Chris Hill; and brother Jim Jansen.
Judy graduated from Sauk Centre High School and the University of Minnesota. Over the years, she was much involved with her family, church and community. She maintained the Petermeier family directory. She greatly enjoyed singing in the St. Luke Catholic Church choir. She worked for the federal government for many years and had sharp technology, financial and organizational skills. Judy was dedicated to her family, enjoyed gardening and book clubs, travel and simple walking throughout God’s magnificent creation, enjoying the beauty and identifying numerous plants and animals she encountered. Even as her health was failing, she maintained her sense of humor and respect for all creatures.
A visitation for Judy will be from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 12 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 7575 Holliday Drive East, Indianapolis, Indiana 46260. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur at 11:30 a.m., July 12 at 7575 Holliday Drive East, Indianapolis, Indiana 46260 and will be available on livestream at https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/11329977. A meal will be provided at the church. In Minnesota, a graveside service will occur at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 19, at Lakewood Cemetery, 3600 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55408. After interment, a gathering for a meal will be arranged.
