Bruce Albert Buchanan, 88 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2022, with his wife, Shirley, by his side at Fairway Pines Assisted Living in Sauk Centre. He was born on Aug. 14, 1933, in Arkansaw, Wisconsin to Henry and Irma Buchanan. Bruce graduated from Arkansaw High School. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  Bruce and Shirley Ann Aitken were married on July 9, 1960. Bruce worked in the grocery business for most of his life. He retired from the Ken Mart grocery store after working with his brother Kent for many years. During retirement, Bruce enjoyed many activities including caring for horses, travel, going to casinos, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Irma, stepmother Vema, his father and mother in law Robert and Pearl Aitken, his brother Kent, his sister Carolyn, brothers in law John Sweeney, Bill Beckler, Lester Henn and Gerald Wiess and a nephew Blake Wiess.  Bruce is survived by his wife Shirley, daughter Dayna (Traye) Steinhorst of Rock Springs, Wis., son Robert (Julie) Buchanan of Chaska, Minn., grandchildren Abigail (Brandon) Fischer of Seattle Wash., and Benjamin Buchanan of Eden Prairie, Minn. He is also survived by his sisters Linda Henn, Sharon Beckler, Ginger Sweeney and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Aug. 31st at the Arkansaw Memorial Cemetery in Arkansaw, Wis. The family would like to thank the staff at Fairway Pines and the hospice nurses for the excellent care given to him during his stay.
