Rosalie M. “Rosie” Loxtercamp, age 80 of Big Lake, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, at St. Benedict’s Senior Community in Monticello, Minn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa with Rev. Mark Botzet officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Monticello and from 10-10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. Parish prayers will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday evening at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Monticello.
Rosalie Martha Fiedler was born April 29, 1942, in Sauk Centre to Edward and Martha (Wiener) Fiedler. She graduated from Saint Frances High School in Little Falls and continued her education at St. Cloud Beautician School.
On Oct. 29, 1961, she married Dennis Loxtercamp at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. After their marriage, Rosie became a housewife and together they raised their three children, Lisa, Greta, and Marty. The family lived in NE Minneapolis then in Brooklyn Park and later in Big Lake. Rosie went back to work as a seamstress when Marty was in first grade.
Rosie enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking, quilting, sewing, gardening flowers and vegetables, going to the movies, and just staying busy. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids. She was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Monticello.
Survivors include her children, Lisa Emery of North Minneapolis, Greta (Raymond) Witzman of Princeton, and Marty Loxtercamp of Monticello; four grandchildren, Alyssa (Dan) Kuder, Anthony Emery, Kimberly (Jake) Belanger, and Cody (Meghan) Witzman; nine great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Aurelia Kudor, Carter and Callah Emery, Jarryd, Loghan, Colton Belanger, and Bentley and Brayden Witzman; and brothers and sister, Jean (Patricia) Fiedler of Sauk Centre, Harold (Marilyn) Fiedler of Avon, Alicen (Ted) Barrett of Clearwater, Florida, and Daniel (Rita) Fiedler of Two Rivers, Wisconsin.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis Loxtercamp on March 24, 2013; infant brother, Edward George Fiedler; and brother, James Fiedler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
